A busy home with a very active family needed an update to the entire ground floor.

The kitchen, lounge room, bathroom, 2 childrens’ bedrooms, master bedroom, walk-in-robe, ensuite and study area all needed refreshing. We replaced all skirtings, architraves and doors to create a more modern feel. We also introduced extra windows to bring more natural light into the kitchen and lounge room areas. Sanding and polishing brought the timber floors back to its best.

The original kitchen was U-shaped with very little storage or prep area. We opened it up and removed walls in order to introduce a large island which is ideal for prepping and social activities. We installed bifold windows opening to the entertainment area to create a servery to the adjoining BBQ and pool areas. The splashback is fixed toughened glass overlooking the pool. We introduced good storage with drawers and integrated appliances for a more streamlined look. The palette is a sophisticated selection of matt black and timbers.

The study is hidden behind bifold doors. The timber handles were custom made to match the timber panelling used on the island and feature wall.

The brief in the main bathroom was to include a free-standing bath. We added a large picture window with louvres above for airflow. We also introduced a hidden motorised blind concealed into the ceiling for privacy if needed. Oversized, recessed shaving cabinets were custom built to create storage and wall hung custom vanities created a clean & modern ambience.

Lighting is always crucial in bathrooms so we included both pendants and overhead options. Good extractor fans were introduced plus underfloor heating. The ensuite followed the bathroom with selections and style so there is a consistency of design flow throughout the home.

The master bedroom was given floor-to-ceiling wardrobes to create a lot of storage whilst concealing everything. The wardrobes then became a feature in the room. We introduced a custom bedhead in navy velvet with S wave curtains to compliment.

In the lounge room we introduced elongated windows to let in light and create interest. We built custom joinery to allow for more storage and wrapped the unit in black Corian benchtop and sides creating a striking, seamless feature.
